Dutchman’s Pipe

Aristolochia littoralis

This is a fast growing climber that does well at altitudes from 1,600 to 1,800 m. They climb by twining stems so suitable for a pergola or other supports. Better in a sunny area of the garden but will also tolerate dappled shade. The flowers have no fragrance but are of an unusual colour and patterning. It grows easily from seeds which are scattered from long capsules and can become invasive if left to grow.
