There are many different species and varieties of mint with varying strengths and types of aroma and flavour. The height will depend on variety but generally not exceed 60 cm. They are perennials and love rich very moist soils in either full sun or shade and grow on root runners that will become invasive unless contained. Mint sauce is well known for use with lamb dishes but mint can be used in many other ways. Depending on species can be grown at all altitudes.
