Horseradish is grown for its root which grated can be used to make the spicy sauce popularly used to accompany meat dishes, particularly roast beef. The plant bears large green serrated leaves to 50 cm tall which can be used when the plant is young. Best grown in full sun in rich free draining soil but as the roots are very invasive and difficult to eradicate needs to be container grown. 1,500 to 2,000 m.
