Terminalia brownii

A good tree for dry areas as it is drought tolerant, losing its foliage during the dry season and quickly recovering its leaves in the rainy season. Will reach 20 m in height in areas of sufficient rainfall. Flowers are small and white followed by the main attraction of the hard seed pod which are reddish purple, roundish in shape and 40 mm in size. Suitable for altitudes from 700 to 2,000 m.
